2020- World Cleansing

Small fragile moments.

The air gets lighter as spring starts to give way. The tender feeling of being in nature without a worry in place. Watching children play outside, and truly be kids. An old married couple taking a walk down the street, hand in hand a lifetime of embrace. Actually sitting down to a family dinner, sharing "how was your day?" Even the simplicity in noticing life as it is, allowing yourself to not move at such a fast pace.

These are moments you can't replace.

In our world today with everything going on I won't try to tell you what is happening isn't devastating in it's own way. However ever since this pandemic started to occur, and I heard about Covid-19 for the first time, everything has been negative.

When that is just simply looking at the glass half empty instead of full.

Over time the world we live in and the lives we lead have gained so much momentum I swear most of us have forgotten where the breaks even are. Everyone is in such a hurry to gain more, be more, live more. When by the time whatever someone is wanting to achieve is achieved they still find themselves unsatisfied. Drawing a blank on the journey it took to get there.

A good friend once told me, "It's not about the destination, that's easy once you're sitting there, it's about the journey it took to get there." This phrase resonated with me so much because living for the journey is key.

Which brings me back to our world today. We are all being forced to slow down and look around right now. I see more people outside then ever, children actually entertaining themselves with playing in the woods then on video games, and so much more. People are actually coming together and realizing we're not all just moving pieces, we're actually the whole puzzle in a broad perspective.

Instead of a downward spiral this pandemic is actually going to bring us a new beginning. Which may seem bleak right now but trust me it will.

We were never meant to make a difference alone, and move so incredibly fast to get there. We were meant to come together and look around, taking in the journey which will lead us to a version of better.

Right now everything happening is merely a small portion of the journey in all our lives. This pandemic is giving us time to slow down and change.

So slow down, take it in, and you'll begin to realize there's so much more to the bigger picture than you think.

Always remember we're in this together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
