This Is Not A Political Problem, It Is A Heart Problem

It is with a heavy heart that I sit and write this article, and I think those of you with respect and love for the freedom we have in this country, can say the same. I have chose to remain quite on the affairs happening across this nation, but now having read, watched and learned the hate that is being cultivated in many hearts, I could not stay silent. The week of election I went to a study group for an exam, in the middle of turning pages the election was brought up in casual conversation. Each of us expressed who we chose in the poll, and to be honest we all did not vote for the same candidate. Without coffee being thrown, cars being blown up and flags being burned, we proceeded to study microbes and bacteria. You see, TRUE maturity is shown when you can express and stand up for your beliefs, yet respect those around you who think differently. That night driving home I thought "If only everyone could be like those around that table that night." I have come to the vast conclusion that this nation wide hate, that is taken to the streets in dangerous protest then resulting in fractured hope and security is not a POLITICAL problem, it is a HEART problem. A certain individual, a belief, moral standpoint, tradition, social stance, religion, race, ethnicity or even culture is not DEPLORABLE, but the hate that is resonating within the four walls of this country is. At this point who you voted for no longer matters because the election booths are closed, but what is at hand now is where our nations's heart is, and how united we are under God.

We must submit our ways and motives to He who holds this nation's future in the lines of His palms. He was there when the candidates were first displayed to the public, He was there when the first debate sent off the election season, He was there when options began to trickle down to the final two, and He was there when the last debate sealed our decisions. He was there when the polls closed, He was there when states began to light up, and He was there early that morning when our new president was announced. We tend to forget He does not miss a thing, even in a crowd of ten thousand, He sees everything. In surrendering to Him and His plan for this nation, we are allowing restoration to take place.

We should continue to speak with Him, express our concern and find comfort in the all knowing. Instead of ventilating horizontally, we must ventilate vertically checking our own heart, and assuring our motives and words are like honey sweet to the soul and healthy to the body. No, agreements may never be reached, but respect can be. We should sharpen our focus on the pro activity of this nation because the enemy surely wants us to fail and fall. Be steadfast and on guard to the evil around because it is the very thing that will send this nation to its plummet downward. Instead of screaming on social media how right you are, and how wrong others are, seek to understand rather then be understood. Speak boldly yet humbly, honest and true, and show kindness that Christ has shown you in your opposition to Him at times.

We have to set ground rules and admit when we are wrong about something we said or a comment made in anger, say what you mean but in way that earns you respect, and don't store up emotions ready to be used on the first person that thinks or believes differently.

We must make peace for what is done is done, and we must progress forward trust our footsteps are guided by the great I Am. He has been in the midst of the unclear, and when obedience seemed to make no sense. We must recognize our ways are not as high as His are, He keeps the entire universe from crumbling into dust and He is and will always be...God. He hung blameless on a cross for everyone republican, democrat, liberal, republican, conservative, political fanatic, ect, but despite the title you hold the most important one is child of the one true king. He saw every flaw in you, but still chose the cross because He loved you just that much, now it is our turn to express that same love. One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty, and justice FOR ALL.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
